Arise and Shine for Community Development
Organisation development organisation addresses livelihoods by assisting vulnerable persons through
counselling services, rehabilitation and reconciliation of broken families, these issues still
remain the third cause of societal problems in Zimbabwe and in Victoria Falls to be specific.
In addition, households find it difficult to sustain their families without a source of income.
Through the establishment of a Care Center, Arise and Shine for Community Development
Organisation seeks to reduce the risk and vulnerability to domestic violence, school dropouts
of children and household breakdown on the affected households.
From 2016 to date Arise and Shine for Community Development has been working on various projects listed below and efforts are still ongoing to reach out and assist more people in the various communities should resources allow it.
1. CARING FOR DISABLED PEOPLE
Victoria Falls
-Focusing on the general care, provision or food, clothes, medication and financial support for 10 disabled people and their families in Victoria Falls area.
2. PROVISION OF FOOD FOR IMPOVERISHED FAMILIES
Victoria Falls
-25 impoverished families averaging 4-7 members per family were identified and assisted with food, especially so as to enable the kids to go to school after having decent meals.
3.PAYMENT OF SCHOOL FEES FOR DISADVANTAGED KIDS

-A total of 17 disadvantaged school kids benefitted from assistance with payment of school fees in the various schools with Victoria Falls and surrounding communities .
4.RECONCILIATION OF BROKEN FAMILIES – Victoria Falls and Hwange communities.
-To date 26 broken families have been successfully reconciliated as a result of the mediation efforts offered by Arise and Shine between the involved parties.
5.REHABILIATION OF DRUG ADDICTS
-Victoria Falls and surrounding communities.
- A total of 16 drug addicts and 37 Sex workers were successfully rehabilitated to live normal and better livehoods through serious counselling and provision of ideas and alternative sources of income.
6.COUNSELLING SERVICES
-Victoria Falls and Hwange communities
-Over 100 people were successfully assisted in their various problem issues by offering thorough counselling services such that several churches ,authorities ,social groups and individuals would constantly refer people to the organization for the counselling services.
7. ASSISTANCE TO OLD PEOPLE’S HOME AND ORPHANAGE
-Victoria Falls and surrounding communities.
-Food hampers, clothes and financial assistance were constantly offered to such charity organizations like Victoria Falls Old People’s home and the Rose of Charity orphanage.
8. RURAL OUTREACH
-Victoria Falls and Hwange Rural communities
-A total of 65 needy families were identified and reached out too, giving assistance of food hampers, clothes and financial assistance in rural areas close to Victoria Falls such as Panda-Masuwe,Monde,Chisuma,Chidhobe,Ndhlovu,Sizinda,Jambezi and all the way to Hwange Rural communities such as Lukosi,Makwa,Mabale, Lupote,and Dete
9. CONFLICT MANAGEMENT SEMINARS
-Victoria Falls & Hwange communities
- Due to the ever-rising cases of conflict with homes, workplaces and the society dues to various reasons ranging from gender, tribal, political, economic, technological, demographic and other social differences Arise and Shine for Community Development held a total of 35 Conflict Management Seminars over the years as a way of peace-building with the homes and community and the results were very satisfactory.
10. MARRIAGE TALKS
-Victoria Falls and Hwange communities
-Several churches ,communities and couples in Hwange and Victoria Falls surrounding areas benefitted immensely from the numerous marriage talks held by Arise and Shine in a bid to establish and build better marriages and homes within the communities.
11. SETTLING DOMESTIC DISPUTES
– Victoria Falls & Hwange communities
-28 families were successfully assisted in settling various domestic disputes.
12. CARE-GIVING FOR CHRONIC ILLNESSES
- Victoria Falls and Hwange Communities
-a total of 36 people with Chronic Illnesses such as AIDS/HIV and Tuberculosis were assisted with home-based care ,provision of medicine and food while others who had defaulted their medication courses were assisted to resume their prescribed medication courses .
